The Advising Committee

STRUCTURE & RESPONSIBILITY
• The advising committee is the Executive body of the organization and shall be the governing and policy implementing body of the Ikporo Onitsha USA.
• The advising committee shall consist of the board of directors, members of the secretariat, chairpersons of all standing committee, and adhoc committees, members of the financial team and any member who is active and in good financial standing who volunteers to serve Ikporo Onitsha USA in any capacity.
• The Advising committee shall set the agenda and implement policies of the organization. However, such policies must be approved by the General Assembly.
• The Advising committee is responsible for generating and approving the agenda for each bimonthly and live Ikporo Onitsha USA meeting.

MISSION STATEMENT
Ikporo Onitsha USA is committed to engaging, enlightening and empowering Onitsha women to participate in the promotion of the cultural, social, educational, and economic development of Onitsha people in the United States and at home.

GOALS
1. To provide a forum for Onitsha women in the United States of America to develop a network of support by emphasizing the importance of a united, peaceful, progressive and participatory women’s group.
2. To provide a networking forum to support the social, cultural and educational growth of our children and our community.
3. To encourage and support the development of practical solutions to health care problems in Onitsha.
4. To encourage community service among our children by encouraging volunteerism of Onitsha youths in service of Onitsha both in USA and at home.
5. To advocate for a multi-purpose skills and recreation center in Onitsha that will serve to support the growth and development of women and our youth.
6. To facilitate and advocate for the provision of micro credit to women and youth in order to encourage entrepreneurship.
